Center for Autism and Behavioral Supports

CABS

At the Center for Autism and Behavioral Supports (CABS), we prioritize a compassionate and individualized approach to each client. Our approach respects the dignity of each person and focuses on building a cooperative therapeutic relationship with clients and their families. We strive to create a positive and collaborative partnership because it is essential for success. We work closely with clients ensuring their needs and goals are met in therapy. We empower individuals to reach their full potential by utilizing the science of applied behavior analysis to improve lives.

What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a well-established, scientifically validated approach to understanding and improving human behavior. ABA techniques are grounded in the principles of learning theory and are used to create meaningful behavior changes in a variety of settings. Learning theory describes how behaviors can change depending on consequences and experiences. ABA focuses on helping individuals build skills, reduce challenging or dangerous behaviors, and improve overall quality of life for the client and family.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of ABA services to meet the needs of individuals and families. Our services are tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals. We provide:

  • Compassionate & Responsive ABA: We provide 1:1 therapy centered around a compassionate and responsive approach to each child’s unique needs, preferences, and learning style. We utilize child-led sessions that focus on the individual’s interests and strengths, allowing for a more engaging and motivating experience. By using interests as a foundation, we ensure that therapy feels both enjoyable and effective, making it easier for children to learn and apply new skills. Every client is treated with respect, and we believe that fostering an environment where the child feels heard and valued is critical to progress. We adjust interventions as necessary, ensuring that each plan remains fluid and flexible to meet growing needs and to create the best outcomes possible for each child.
  • Caregiver Support & Coaching: We work closely with parents and caregivers to identify both strengths and challenges to develop a tailored plan that addresses specific goals. Our approach focuses on fostering positive, supportive relationships between caregivers and children. We guide caregivers in using ABA techniques in everyday settings, reinforcing strategies at home, school, and within the community. Through individualized coaching, we help caregivers feel confident in their role, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to support their child’s growth long after therapy sessions end.  By empowering caregivers, we create a foundation for lasting success in the child’s development and overall family well-being.
  • Community Outreach: Our commitment extends beyond individual therapy to positively impact the broader community. Our community initiatives include hosting education events for community members to learn about ABA principles, partnering with local organizations to expand access to ABA services and autism acceptance, and providing students with hands-on learning opportunities to grow the next generation of behavior analysts. Our goal is to listen, learn, and partner with our community to promote inclusivity and compassion within our practices.
