Adult Language and Motor Speech Disorders

Finding support in groups

Our HEDCO Clinic team offers a variety of services for individuals who have had a stroke, illness, or incident resulting in the following.

  • Aphasia
  • Dysarthria
  • Apraxia
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Primary progressive aphasia
  • Other acquired speech or language disorders

We provide a comprehensive evaluation focused on identifying the individual's strengths and challenges, as well as the priorities of the client and their loved ones. We provide many treatment options that include individual therapy for expressive language, receptive language, reading and writing, increased clarity, and volume of speech. Supervising faculty are certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) and we provide SPEAK OUT!® and LOUD Crowd® for clients with Parkinson’s disease. Popular group options include an Aphasia Book Club, Current Event Conversation Group, and Adaptive Game Day.
