Wendy Machalicek is an Associate Professor in Special Education and director of the Pearl Duck Autism Center. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Texas, Austin and has been with the College of Education since 2008 and currently directs the HEDCO Clinic autism assessment and applied behavior analysis services. She has focused her research and intervention work on developing effective behavior analytic assessment practices and interventions addressing the behavioral and educational needs of young children (18 months - 8 years of age) with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. She brings particular expertise in the areas of assessment and treatment of challenging behavior and in evaluating ways to improve the acquisition, generalization, and sustained use of evidence-based practices by caregivers, teachers, and schools. She is recognized nationally for her innovations in the field of autism spectrum disorder assessment and intervention and she serves as the Chairperson of the Oregon Behavioral Analysis Regulatory Board which licenses behavior analysts in Oregon.
