Speak Up! Gender Affirming Communication Therapy

Speak Up! (Developed in 2015) is an interdisciplinary gender affirming communication group that integrates identity-focused counseling support with speech-language services for trans feminine communicators. Clinical intervention focuses on increasing pitch, forward resonance and modifying articulation, language use and structure, and nonverbal communication.

The Voice Clinic offers the following gender affirming services services:

  • Adult Feminine (ages 18+)
    • This group is for trans-feminine or gender-diverse individuals looking to feminize their voice, while offering a supportive space for clients to talk about their challenges and successes.
  • Adolescent Feminine (ages 13 to 17)
    • This group is for 13–17-year-old transfeminine or gender-diverse individuals looking to feminize their voice, as well as create a supportive space for clients to talk about their challenges and successes.
  • Adult Masculine (ages 18+)
    • Individual sessions offered. group may form as interest grows.
